Before Script to Screen - Postponed until further notice Creating the Character Arc: Building Character from the Ground Up
Are you a new or not-so-new screenwriter looking to unlock the mysteries of effective screenwriting? This course is for you! It is also encouraged for actors and directors.
In this session, script and story consultant Peter A. Levy will examine the art of character development. In dramatic writing, at least one character should undergo a serious enough change. He should go from one extreme to the other. A character-driven script is a favorite among movie-goers. But how is this done? What are the elements which must be included in your script in order for a character arc to be effective? In this workshop, the following exercises will be used:
Building the character spine
The Psychology of character development
Character biography
Motivation
Character & Story
Drawing on personal experience
Research
